Scope

The Fire Suppression System Technician is responsible for the inspection, testing, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and commissioning of industrial fire suppression and fire protection systems. The role supports the safe and reliable operation of fire protection equipment in compliance with applicable safety standards, client requirements, and industry best practices.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine inspections and preventive maintenance of fire suppression systems.

• Diagnose equipment faults and perform corrective maintenance activities.

• Test fire protection systems to ensure operational readiness and compliance with standards.

• Maintain fire pumps, valves, piping networks, foam systems, extinguishing systems, and related equipment.

• Review system drawings, P&IDs, manuals, and maintenance procedures.

• Ensure all maintenance activities are completed safely and efficiently.

• Report deficiencies, system failures, and recommended corrective actions.

• Maintain accurate maintenance records and inspection logs.

• Coordinate with supervisors, engineers, and client representatives during maintenance activities.

• Participate in emergency response activities as required.

Qualification

• A degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation, Fire Protection Technology, or a related discipline.

• Minimum 5 years of experience in industrial fire suppression system maintenance.

• Mandatory experience in fire system maintenance projects within major petrochemical, refinery, oil & gas, or industrial facilities.

• Proven experience in large-scale industrial fire protection systems is required.

• Experience within leading petrochemical industry maintenance environments is highly preferred.

• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.

• Familiarity with maintenance practices for fire pumps, sprinkler systems, deluge systems, foam systems, and clean agent systems.

• Understanding of NFPA standards and applicable fire protection regulations.

• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
